Apple just unveiled its Apple iPhone 15& 15 Plus models. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have some excellent upgrades as well, especially if you’re coming from an iPhone 12 or earlier . Here is a look at the top new features for both the Apple iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.
Dynamic Island of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
The Dynamic Island was one of the most talked-about features on the iPhone 14 Pro and now it comes to the iPhone 15 standard models. you’ll get alerts, pop-ups and live activities at the top of iPhone 15 display.
Display of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
6.1 inch iPhone 15 and 6.7 inch iPhone 15 Plus are coming with Super retina XDR OLED display with Ceramic shield on top for protection. This Display can reach upto 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness and upto 2000 nits of peak brightness under direct sunlight just like the last years pro models. This is crazy. In the design though there are certain notable changes like the aluminum frame is slightly rounded at the edge to make the phone more comfortable in the hands. And we also have more easily repairable back glass with full matte finish unlike all the previous iPhone standard models since iPhone XR. As for the colors these two phones come in five colors, black, blue, green, yellow, and pink.
USB-C of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
The most important change with the iPhone 15 is the move from Lightning to USB-C. For the past decade, the iPhone has had a USB 2.0 proprietary Lightning port, but now you’ll be able to charge your iPad and Mac with the same USB-C cable. This USB-C port though still will be USB 2.0 with upto 480mbps data transfer speed. Apple is supplying a USB-C charging cable in the box worth $29.
Reverse wired charging
You can now use a charging cable to refuel other Apple gadgets, such as an Apple Watch and 2nd-generation AirPods Pro, by just putting them into your phone thanks to the iPhone 15’s new USB-C connector.
The iPhone 15 has the same A16 chip as the iPhone 14 Pro models from a year ago, so although it probably won’t feel any quicker in everyday usage, it does come with some new capabilities that might be significant. For instance, the A16 chip incorporates a Display Engine for enhancing visuals and animations as well as an improved image signal processor for better computational photography.
New UWB chip
A new U2 Ultra-wide band chip is also included in these two latest iPhones to give even more accurate location and detection. This enables you to share location with friends, who may use this chip to find you even in a crowded environment. That is only one example.
New camera of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 still has a dual-camera array with a wide-main camera and an ultra-wide camera, but Apple has upped the main camera’s megapixels from 12 to 48 with a quad-pixel f/1.6 sensor and 100 percent Focus Pixels for fast autofocus. Shots will be saved in 24MP by default using 4-in-1 pixel binning tech “offering incredible image quality at a practical file size ideal for storing and sharing.”
Additionally, because of this new 48MP sensor the iPhone 15 can take 2X telephoto shots without a dedicated telephoto lens at a 12MP resolution which is fantastic considering this zoomed photo is also benefited by the f/1.6 aperture and sensor shift stabilization tech in low light scenarios. This also enables continuous zoom in cinematic video mode. And with “next-generation portraits,” to adjust the focus and bokeh effect after you snap a pic at 1x or even 2x, even if you haven’t switched to Portrait mode.
Price and availability of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus start at same $799 and $899, respectively, and come in 3 storage options, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The new iPhone 15 models will become available to order next Friday and will start shipping and become available in Apple Stores on September 22.
