It was easy to identify the pro pixel phone from Google pixel standard models but with the launch of the Pixel 9 series this will actually change quite a bit
Aside from the cheaper Pixel 8a there is also gonna be the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 pro and a Pixel 9 pro XL. Actually newer model is the pro model which will be a miniature Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, something we haven’t seen since the launch of the Google pixel 6 series.
Now this strategy also shows that Google is more interested in the smartphone business now and it’s doing really good otherwise they wouldn’t introduce all these models.
The pixel 9 will actually come with the 6.03 inch screen much smaller than the 6.2 in screen of the pixel 8. The tiny Pixel pro phone is going to have a 6.1 inch – 6.2 inch display. While the bigger pixel 8 pro successor Pixel 9 pro XL will retain the pixel 8 pros 6.7 inch display and that does make sense.
The current pixel 8 and 8 pro are different in one key area, 2000 nits of peak brightness for the pixel 8 and 2600 nits of the on the Pixel 8 pro and that is the same thing coming to the Pixel 9 models.
The other big change that you can see are actually cameras. Google Pixel 9 will also have dual cameras just like past 3 years of Pixel standard models. It will consist of one main camera and one UW camera. The pro models will have an added telephone lens to the mix.
By the way, all these phones will also have totally flat sides just like every other phones now with same rounded edges And the standard model will have the matte finish on top of the frame and the high end models will actually have glossy finish.
Anyway, the camera specs are something that we don’t know at this point. But as much as I can think the pixel 9 will retain the same camera setup of the pixel 8 with a 50 megapixels main camera and a 12 megapixels ultra wide angle sensor.
Pixel 8 Pro has a 48 megapixel UW camera and a 48 megapixel 5X zoom camera. The sensors will not change as much in the upcoming pro models too. But I will update you guys about the camera specs want to get to know anything about them.
This year Google’s should do something major about the temperature sensor on the pro models. Chipset wise, we are expecting all of them to run on the Tensor G4 system on a chip with same storage and RAM configurations. 8GB for the standard model, and 12GB standard on the Pro models.
The Tensor G4 was recently spotted by mysmartprice on geekbench with a multicore score of 2121 points and a single core score of 1082. This is still a prototype device keep that in mind but even then the Tensor G4 is not going to compete with the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 or other flagship chipsets, they’re still focused on the TPU side of things. There will be one prime core running at 2.15 gigahertz, 3 performance cores running at 2.6 gigahertz and 4 efficiency cores running at 1.95 gigahertz.
Anyway, I really like to look of the pixel 9 series because of the camera bar is still there because it is separated from the metal housing it looks more distinctive but also at the same time it is having its own character. But Google is no longer making boxy Pixels like the Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 series, kinda disappointing. By the way two Tiny Pixel 9 models will have same exact dimensions with different screen sizes. So in that scenario the Pixel 9 Pro will have much thinner bezels compared to the Pixel 9. Pixel 9 Pro XL will continue to have same dimensions as the current pixel 8 Pro.
So what are the pricing differences can we expect? Now this links are kind of speculation at this point but here’s the story, the pixel 8 starts at $699 and you’ll just spend $300 more to get the pixel 8 Pro at $999.
Unless Google tries to push the pixel 9 Pro XL towards $1,000 plus price tag. We can expect the smaller pro pixel 9 model to cost around $849-$899.
Let me know about so yeah, that’s probably it let me know about your thoughts in the comment section below.
