In my last report, I actually showed all the AI features coming to the Galaxy S24 series powered by Galaxy AI and we also got to see the launch event date which is gonna be 17th of January in San Jose, California.
These phones will have significant upgrades as well. But that depending on which phone you are coming from.
But even then the Galaxy S24 ultra has so many changes even stndard model will have certain major changes too.
Galaxy S24 Series Big Display Upgrades
For example, the whole S24 series will have very thin and symmetrical bezels even compared to a Galaxy S23 series. Most specifically the ultra will have symmetrical bezels all around, top-bottom-sides and the sides of the display gonna be slightly curved for but only the bezels not for the display.
The interactive part or the usable part of the display is still going to be flat. So, you’re not gonna feel that there is a curve anymore. And this is also getting confirmed by many different leaked official renders as well.
Galaxy S24 Series storage and memory
Now we also have another thing from a Samsung’s official partner in Colombia and yeah that kind of shows the same kind of thing. The same gold color that we have already seen. Looks gorgeous and it shows that there is gonna be a 1TB variant of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and also a 512 gigabytes max storage option for the S24 plus. The same as this 23 series
But the storages gonna be UFS 4.0 tech based. Unlike the base Galaxy S24 model. Which actually will have 128 gigabytes of starting storage option and because there is no UFS4.0 128GB storage then yeah, it is gonna be UFS 3.1 but that doesn’t mean it slow by any means but it’s not as fast or as efficient as the newer tech.
For example, the basic difference between UFS 4.0 and 3.1 are that UFS 4.0 has sequential read and write speeds upto 4200MBps and 2800MBps respectively whereas the UFS 3.1 has only 2100 MBps 1200MBps respectively while consuming 46% more power compared to UFS 4.0 tech that probably is one of the reasons why the newer generation Samsung Galaxy series are that much efficient so it’s still a good thing but it’s not coming to te Galaxy S24, that’s kind of bad.
The same way it also is not getting a big upgrade in the RAM Department, it’s still gonna start with the 8GB base RAM. Where’s the plus and ultra will start with atleast 12 gigabytes of RAM.
Galaxy S24 Series Camera changes
Many people might say like the ultra should get 16 gigabytes at the very least but hey 16 gigabyte is way too much for most thing that Android or OneUI can do at this point but to win the numbers game, Samsung ultras should have a 16 gigabytes of RAM because the ultra models always been about the numbers, like it’s gonna have another 200 megapixel. It’s an optimized variant of the same ISOCELL HP2 camera that we have all this seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
It’s a 1/1.3“ sensor with 0.6 micrometres sized pixels, there gonna be the same 12 MP Ultra-wide camera, 10MP 3x Camera, but the improvement is coming to the more powerful zoom camera with upto 100x space zoom and all of that.
It is going to be a 5x Telephoto camera with 48 megapixel resolution, it’s the ISOCELL GMU sensor with 1/2.25” sensor and 0.8 micrometers sized pixels. This camera with the same sensor crop technology that is also coming to the 200 megapixel main camera, will be able to zoom up to 10X without losing any quality at 12 megapixel resolution that too without any upscaling unlike the current systems.
So technically it will have more detailed and better potrait photos at 5x, crisper 12MP 10x photos and because this Ultra will be all about the AI, it will hopefully have much better 100x photos.
But the same thing can’t be said about the standard models, they’re gonna have the same 50 megapixel main camera, 10 megapixel 3x zoom camera and12 megapixel ultra-wide camera and whole is 24 series will have 12MP front facing cameras.
Another crazy big thing is actually the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 for galaxy chipset.
Galaxy S24 Ultra Processor Upgrades
It’s actually a much much better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or even the 8 gen 2 for galaxy chip. Doesn’t mean 8 gen2 is any slower or anything like that, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for galaxy is gonna be really freaking powerful. If you look at the recent benchmark scores, the numbers are just so damn amazing.
if you are thinking about what is the difference between Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy versus Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Galaxy variant will have the cortex X4 core running at higher clock speed. And the performance cores will have two different groups one will run at higher clock speeds tan the other group.
But they’re going to be comparatively lower in the clockspeeds than the standard Snapdragon 8 gen 3. I don’t know why that is the case, but that’s the thing but it’s all about the AI, all about the AI.
Also you have to keep one of the thing to keep in mind that in certain markets the the Exynos 2400 processor will actually power the standard two Galaxy S24 models. But we have seen the benchmarking numbers too, 2000 points in a single core test and 6406 points in the multicore test.
I mean that’s impressive, but the main problem with Exynos processors is sustained performance not the peak performance, so I hope Samsung is doing something really amazing with cooling solutions and optimisations.
We have already heard that all of Galaxy S24 models will also have much bigger vapor chamber cooling systems then even the last year’s models, about 1.9 times bigger than the S23 ultra inside Galaxy S24 ultra and about 1.5 times bigger on the plus and the standard model. Mostly because of the NPU usages will be high on these devices because of all the crazy AI features coming to these devices, you can check out my recent video on that.
Galaxy S24 series color options
Another thing is that there are new colors for the whole Galaxy S24 series. Onyx black, marble gray, amber yellow and cobalt violet colors for the standard and the plus model. The same colors will also be available for the S24 Ultra but will be named like Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Yellow, and Titanium Violet.
But they’re going to be certain colors that are going to be Samsung.com exclusives. Thanks to Roland Quant we also have them. For the plus and the standard model it will be orange, purple and white but for the ultra though, It’s going to be orange, blue and light green. blue has been favorite among fans for Galaxy Ultra models.
