So this is the Galaxy Z Flip 6. And it doesn’t look like it because it looks identical to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. There are not major changes in the design department, and that is kind of understandable because the Z Flip actually saw the biggest change in Samsung’s clamshell foldable lineup.
But that doesn’t mean there are no changes. There are changes, like the dimensions are slightly different from the current model. It’s about 165 mm tall, 71.7 mm wide, and 7.4 mm thick, which means it’s slightly less tall than the last model and slightly more narrow. But that mostly has to do with the bezels and not the display, because the display is still going to be 6.7 inches and the whole phone is actually going to be thicker this time compared to last year’s model. And that simply means two things: one, it’s going to have a bigger battery compared to the 3,700 mAh of the last model, which means it’s going to be close to 4,000 mAh if it’s happening.
And the next thing is that the crease of the display might be even less visible because a thicker body simply means it will leave more room for the display to fold with the newer hinge, which will actually reduce the strain on the display when folded. So yeah, it’s an indirect improvement, but it’s a big improvement. It’s going to be the same way with the cover screen, which is not changing at all with the same dimensions. It’s still going to be a 3.4-inch cover screen and two cameras at the back.
One of them is going to be an upgraded 50-megapixel sensor and the other one is actually going to be a 12-megapixel unit, which is a ultra wide-angle camera. Now, the telephoto camera is not something you can’t really expect because the in sensor crop is the newer thing for smartphones, so this is the same thing that will be implemented in this camera too.
But we can actually see one thing that is the colors. We can see two colors: one is the mint color, the green one, and the other one is the lavender color. They might seem very similar to the Z Flip 5, but that’s the thing: they’re going to be very pastel-like colors, but they look beautiful, though, really beautiful. But at the end of the day, we have to say this thing: Samsung might even consider launching another Galaxy Z Flip 6 right alongside this phone and it might be called the Galaxy Z Flip 6 Ultra or Fan Edition, Depending on which model they’re naming the Z Fold 6,. But they’re going to be two flip phones, just like two fold models. So yeah, it’s going to be really exciting. We will have to wait for more news to confirm every single thing.
